Dave once spotted a snapping turtle on the side of a busy highway, preparing to cross.
Not wanting to leave the turtle in such a treacherous situation, Dave hopped out of the car to save the day. It was a big turtle, and could have probably broken Dave's foot with one snap of its jaw. Dave ended up kicking it (as gently as possible) several times, to lift it off the ground and get it to a safer place.
I bet that turtle thought Dave was a big jerk.

hahahaha...now how can you use this analogy in a church talk? Those times when we feel like we are being kicked by life...maybe it is really to get us to a safer place a little quicker...even if the middle of the road seemed like a nice spot:)
That was nice of Dave...that makes me smile.
Oh man, funny story! Brave dave!
Yep, he was probably ticked.
I love this blog, I can guarantee a laugh when I read it.
it's true, who is right and who is wrong often depends on who you ask.
carter got a serious snap from a turtle that looked exactly like that (only this one was only about 10" from snapper to tip of his mean ol' tail... did i mention he was missing one hind leg?). i got the mommy of the year award that day. a conversation i was having with my mother in law was more important. seems it was something like, "wonder how long it will take for one of these little guys to get snapped!"
btw, i'm stealing your "funner" button. i dare you to tell me no.
Leah, I'm thrilled that you have stolen my button.
I love it.
I love Laura's comment! Wouldn't that be a good talk?
Dave's a sweet guy.
