Hillary brings out the big guns

I knew my sister would take the bait when I challenged her to a coloring contest.

Here is her entry:

Princess Tiana, in crayon

Total coloring time 21 minutes.

I would like to remind you that she is 8 years older than me. Please consider this in your evaluation of our work.

Anyone is invited to weigh in on the contest, but I would like our parents to please decide which coloring page wins. Because I'm pretty sure they would pick me no matter what.

(JK. BFF.)

And, obviously, I really want to win this. But in the spirit of sportsmanship, I would like to point out Hillary's subtle and lovely use of shading on Princess Tiana's glove.

It's not fair to judge an abstract against a portrait. It's like comparing two all-star athletes that play in different sports. It simply cannot be done.

But anywho....Is that shading of the glove done with crayon? Cuz if so, I sit here impressed. That is no small feat and I look forward to the day when I am 8 years older and have acquired said skill.

But your crane was just as lovely as can be. The best yellow crane I have ever seen. Ever. I now know you can hit my house with a rock so I'd like to keep you on my good side.

I'd like to stick a fence poll in the ground and sit firmly on it.

Thank you. :-)

though Hilary presents a lovely portrait, I would gladly hang your elephant and crane in my house. My vote goes firmly in the Emily corner.

Also? This is giving me a huge desire to go color something. :)

If you would like to furnish me with a blank elephant/crane page, I would be happy to submit an abstract that is easier to compare. I did not have a comparable picture. My apologies. And for the record, the shading on the glove (and face and chest) is indeed all crayon. I can furnish the finished product to the judges if proof needs to be in hand.

They are both lovely. But since my vote doesnt count I will gladly hold it to myself and applaud you both for enjoying the art of coloring!
